Thought For The Week 16th July, Brent
Welcome to our combined service today. As we are one church with 2 worship centres, its important that we have regular combined services. These serve to remind us that though we may worship in different ways we worship the same Lord.
This week at St Stephen’s will see 50 children attending the 3-day holiday programme “Landlubbers”, which through a pirate theme looks at the life of St Paul and the radical change in his life after he met Jesus. Catherine and the team have been hard at work making props, costumes, craft activities, skits and games over the last few weeks. I’m sure this will be a memorable holiday programme and our prayer is that children will, like Paul, encounter Jesus in a real way that impacts their lives.
The latest LINK is out now full of interesting articles and highlighting the many activities of our busy parish. Did you know 400 printed copies and 50 emailed copies are distributed of this publication? This is an important way we stay in touch with our wider Presbyterian community, many of whom are no longer able to get to church regularly. Thanks Derek Hughes for your excellent work in editing this and also to the many people who distribute it.
