Thought For The Week 9th July, Brent
Last Sunday Elaine Wyllie went to be with the Lord after a short battle with leukemia. Her passing took many by surprise as she was such an energetic lady, always willing to lend a hand where needed. Her funeral was very well attended which is testament to the number of lives she touched with her life. Our thoughts and prayers are with Elaine’s family and those who will miss her dearly. Psalm 116:15 says; “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants”. Elaine is one of those who served her Lord long and faithfully. May her memory be an inspiration to us all.
Today at Trinity we welcome Ashley Cousins and Tom Fulton as they bring their daughter Lilly for dedication to the Lord. In this simple ceremony, we recognize the role the Lord, who is the author and sustainer of life, plays in bringing forth children. Children are a gift from God so it is fitting that they be dedicated by their parents to God. Dedication also recognizes the enormity of the task of parenting and seeks to enlist the help and resources of God to meet this challenge. And we pray that Lilly and her family will find in us a community that will love and support them in the journey ahead.
Reminder: the service at St Stephen’s will be followed by an open forum which is an opportunity to discuss any pressing issues and update the congregation on progress around building related issues.
