Thought for the Week 12 July 2026

Thought For The Week:

Welcome to our service today. It has certainly been a wet and wild week of weather but happily there has been no flooding in the Trinity Centre basement.  It has a low-lying corner sump that has blocked in the past causing water to go through the doors but happily it has been flowing freely lately.

In preparation for the Wayfinder commencing in September, we would like to set aside August for a special prayer focus to support this exciting initiative. This will begin with a:

Prayer breakfast, Saturday 1 August at St Stephens

followed by weekly prayer meetings for about 45 mins:

Sunday 9am – pre-service 2 August (note this will be at Trinity, in the chapel)

Tuesday 4 August, 9am – Trinity Community Centre

Thursday 6 August, 2pm – St Stephens lounge

To help with that there will be a prayer insert in the pew news to help you bring focussed prayer to this in your own time at home. The Wayfinder initiative will only be fruitful if we bathe it in prayer. I encourage you to join in one or more of these prayer meetings if you can or follow along at home. We will be making an announcement on who the successful candidate is next week.

Catherine and I will be taking a two-week break from Monday 13-26 July. For any pastoral needs contact Lois, 684 7511 or Judith, 688 6004. The office will be open as usual, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 8:30-4pm.

Please note also that we are expecting work to commence on the carpark upgrade soon. Please be mindful of any restrictions in place and comply with any instructions from the work crew.

Nga mihi nui, Brent
