Thought For The Week 13 October 2024
Welcome to our special combined service this morning. Today Luke is leading the service and will be assessed on his ability to conduct worship, administer communion, and preach. We also welcome Margaret van Ginkel from Geraldine who will conduct the assessment. This is an important step in Luke’s internship as he rapidly nears the end of this journey towards readiness for ministry and ordination. Luke officially completes his internship on Sunday the 8th December which we will mark with a special celebration service and shared lunch.
Our proposal to move our worship life to St Stephens has generated plenty of interest and even concern among some. We would like to offer you an opportunity to sit with parish council members (without the ministers’ present) to discuss the proposal further. Not everyone is comfortable speaking up in a congregational meeting, so this provides a safer space to do this. The first of these chat sessions is today, 3-4pm at the Trinity chapel and next week, same time at St Stephens. This forms an important part of how we discern God’s will among us; by listening to each other! I encourage you to be there if you can.
