Thought For The Week 18 June 2023

In Gods creation we have four seasons in each year, all of them different but each year has a purpose.
We tend to describe winter in words such as cold, freezing, bleak, raw, chilly, dark and frosty, a time when its hard to get motivated and tasks seem to take more time to achieve.
In looking at the natural world God sets winter aside for rest. The trees have shed their leaves and growth has slowed down. Some animals have hibernated.
The early Celts saw winter as a time to sit around the fire, reconnect with family and friends, share stories and sing songs.
They recognized it as the season in creation where one stopped, rested, reflected on their faith and life and gained energy and strength for the Spring, a time of renewal and new beginnings.
May winter be time of nurture and enrichment in God for you
