Thought For The Week 12 March 2023

Welcome to our services of worship today. Today Luke, our ministry intern, will be doing his first ‘proper’ sermon with us (he shared his  testimony back in January as part of the Legacy series). This will become a regular part of his life as he develops and hones the skills and practices required for pastoral ministry and leadership. The preaching of God’s word forms a central part of our worship and life together and is one way in which we ‘hear’ God’s voice. We are certainly blessed to have a range of voices in our pulpits and Luke will surely add to that.

Thank you to those who participated in the Relay for Life yesterday, raising money for the Cancer Society, especially Neil McKinnon who played a key role in organising a team from TPP. As one who has been on a cancer journey I appreciate the work the Cancer Society does in support of patients. There are many in our parish who have had brushes with cancer so this fund-raising event holds special significance for us.

I have been astounded by the growth of the Trinity centre community garden! Considering how late in the season things were planted it’s amazing how much produce is coming ready. If you have a green thumb and some free time Helen Carter would love to hear from you as she is on the lookout for folk who might lend a hand tending to this garden. The purpose is to not just grow plants but to make connections with folk in our community so that gospel seeds might also be planted.

It is now just 17 days before Catherine and I head off on study leave to the UK where we will be based at Cambridge. It’s fair to say we are getting rather excited! I will be writing regular updates of our adventures in the Link so watch out for that.

Blessings,
