Mission Project:  The Retiring Offering at Trinity and the Bucket Mission at St Stephens  next Sunday, 3 December will be for the work of Christian World Service.

Community BBQ at Trinity, today at 4pm. We are reaching out to the South end  community with an invitation to share our hospitality and for them to tell us what they like about living in the area and what their concerns are and what would be activities they would like to be part of. This is a TPP initiative. We invite you to help. BBQ cooks, Tea and Coffee makers, people to welcome and encourage conversations, people to help in any way at all you may.

Rhythm Kids:  Every Tuesday morning    during school term 10–11am Trinity Hall, College Rd.  Gold Coin Donation—Morning Tea Supplied.  This is a TPP community outreach action led by Sarah Savage and    Isobel McKinnon.  Contact:  Helen 684 6403.

Zumba Gold Exercises: Do come along and enjoy exercise and fun. Wednesdays  weekly at St Stephen’s Hall at 1pm.

Christmas (Winter) Lunch:  To be held on Tuesday, 28 November at the St Stephens Hall at 12noon.  If you would like to come along, please contact Ngaire phone  686 1834 for catering purposes.

The latest Grapevine Magazine is available for pickup in Foyers.

Timaru District Choir: Concert 2 December, 7pm at Trinity Church.  $15 tickets at the door or from choir members. Come, and rejoice with us in the birth of Christ our Saviour in this “Night of Miracles.”

Presbyterian Women present ‘A Christmas Gathering’, on Thurs 7 Dec at St Stephens 11.30–2pm. Please bring Luncheon food to share, dessert will be provided.    Christine Lloyd will be speaking on her time working on the Mercy Ship. Men are welcome to share this time of fellowship.

Hanukkah Celebration – Sun 17 December 7pm at Gleniti Baptist Church.  Come and hear the story of the battle to retake the Jerusalem temple by the Maccabees.  It is the festival of lights – learn the connection with the birth of Jesus.  Food and fellowship included!  Contact Diane Turner for more information 027 699 2510

All are very welcome at the Timaru Hospital Carol ‘Sing-a-long’ at 6:45pm in the hospital chapel on Mon 18 Dec – all ages, all singers, family, friends etc all  welcome! Bring a Christmas costume if you like, and some are provided!        Alan Cumins (Chaplain).

Mission Group News:  A big Thank You for all your generous donations of toiletries for the Women’s Refuge. Five large cartons are to be delivered this week.

‘Buy & Supply’ is now up and running again at both churches.  From now, till the end of December the money collected will go     towards much needed uniforms for the Boys’ Brigade.  Please support the Mission Group’s latest initiative as either a buyer or supplier and help this needy cause.

‘Eatwell’ will finish for the year on Tuesday 19 December, and resume on Tuesday 9  January 2018.  New customers are always welcome. Ring the office for details – phone 686 0981.

Operation Christmas Boxes :A big thank you to all the folk who supported the appeal this year by lovingly filling a box, providing goodies for the boxes and additional donations to the travel costs.  We contributed 77 boxes just a few more than last year and all postage was      covered.  Here is a breakdown. They were packed into a container and are now on their way to their ultimate destination in the Pacific region and or South-East Asia. Some are tracking their boxes so I will report back about where they went.

Christian Superstore  – 102 Stafford Street:   We have a great selection of children’s books that recognise the advent season,    Christmas cards that share the joy of why Christ came to earth and calendars that are ready for the new year. We also have Gift vouchers available for those who are hard to buy for. These can be used both here and in Christchurch and any Christian Bookshop Association stores.  The Superstore is going to be open later till 5.30pm on weekdays during the month of December to help those of us who are enjoying the beautiful longer sunny days. We are also open between Christmas and New year for those last minute gifts. So please come and take a breather at the Christian Superstore during this busy time while you consider the Reason for the Season. “

Don’t forget we are open between 10 and 2pm on Saturdays.
