Thought For The Week July 30
Sad endings and new beginnings are very much to the forefront of our prayers for our church family this week.
We remember and celebrate the lives of three special people who have been part of the parish who have passed away during the last week. Margaret, Rhonda and Margaret will leave a huge gap in the lives of their family and friends. Life is full of twists and turns and no matter what the circumstance, we can rest in the fact that God is always faithful. I am reminded of two lovely songs Psalm 46: 1 “God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble” and Psalm 46:10 Be still and know that I am God”.
Fiona, we acknowledge and congratulate you on your perseverance, dedication and commitment to encouraging and supporting the small number of boys to continue attending Boys Brigade in Waimate during the 14 years the 3rd Timaru Company was in recess. Today we are pleased to celebrate the recommissioning of the 3rd Timaru Company Boys Brigade with you.
On behalf of the Parish Council and the Pastoral Care team, I would like to acknowledge the 80+ people who deliver the LINK and or do visiting. Thank you for attending the meeting last week and enabling the Parish Roll Review to be updated. You provide a vital part of the ministry to the parish.
May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields
and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
