Bucket Mission:

This morning we are raising funds for Radio Rhema.  Please support this project and join in the bucket of fun.

Earthquake Appeal for the Presbyterian Church of Vanuatu:

Vanuatu had a 7.3 magnitude earthquake that rocked Port Vila, Vanuatu on 17 December 2024.  Global Mission have offered to help with providing structural engineers to give building assessments.  We have two engineers who have agreed to donate their time for this purpose.

Global Mission is launching an earthquake appeal for the Presbyterian Church of Vanuatu.  Funds can be banked into the Global Mission account:

02-0500-0086963-10 with the reference PCV Earthquake Appeal or put cash in an envelope marked ‘Earthquake Appeal Vanuatu’ and place in the Offering plate.

Bible Society Dessert Evening: We will have our annual Dessert Evening on Friday 7 March  at 7pm in the Church St Bible Chapel. Our speakers are Majors Stephen and Elisabeth Campkin from the Salvation     Army who just came back from Fiji and will give us an update on the situation there.  Come and join us for an interesting evening. Cost:  $10pp or $25 a family. The money raised will be for Bibles in the heart languages of Pacific people.

Makikihi School  Fundraiser:  Sunflower maze. $5 per person. Weekdays 4pm -7pm. Weekends 11am – 5pm

World Day Of Prayer:  Friday 7 March at St Mary’s Church Timaru. 2pm

Family Works Food Bank: 

The Food bank gratefully receives all   general sorts of items and can include the following:

  • Shampoo, conditioner & Deodorants, for both men and women.
  • Hand cream and soap.
  • Items for children’s lunches may include: budget biscuits, muesli bars and small packets of potato chips that come in a large bag that include several flavours.
  • Spreads
  • 750g or less blocks of cheese.

Winter Lunches: 

Bev Quigley has stepped down from organising these lunches.  Thank you Bev for the many years you have done this.  Therefore we are looking for someone else to take over.  These lunches are held May to August on the fourth Tuesday of the month, with a     Christmas one in November each year.

Harvest Table:  Our current Harvest Table is raising funds for the local Alzheimer’s Group, but this will change on Sunday 16 March when the Red Cross will be the recipient of our sale’s table. This will be the final round for the season and will finish on Sunday 13 April. Keep up the buying and supplying to help these very worthwhile causes.
