Thought For The Week 23 February 2025

Welcome to our service today, the first of our new arrangement of regular Sunday morning worship at St Stephens. Thank you to all who attended last week and took part in the discussion following the announcement from Judith Begg, our Parish Clerk. I was heartened and encouraged that the overwhelming response from our people is one of  appreciation for the work parish council have done in carefully discerning and leading towards this change and a sense that we are moving forward together. Naturally there will be some teething issues as we work out how we do things, merging the Trinity way with the St Stephens way but I’m confident that what will emerge will enrich our lives and be an authentic expression of who we are. One change for our St Stephens folk is the shifting of morning tea to after the service instead of before. This is mostly a pragmatic change due to having the service 30 minutes earlier.

We are looking to invigorate our parish council with new members, up to 5, and are calling for nominations ahead of our belated AGM, which will be held March 30. Nomination forms are available in the foyer or from the office. Nominees need to be members of our parish supported by a nominator and a seconder. Nominations need to be received by March 5.
