Thought For The Week 8 December 2024
Welcome to our special combined service today to mark the completion of Luke Blackbeard’s internship. Luke and his family have been with us for 2 years and is heading to Christchurch to be ordained and inducted at The Village Church. We welcome visitors from there who will share this celebration and attend Luke’s licensing service after our shared lunch.
We are in a season of transition and change! Last week Rory announced that after being with TPP for 13 years he will be taking up a call to Clevedon Presbyterian Church, Northern Presbytery, with his final Sunday here being 29th December. Naturally, Rory and Andrea will leave a big hole in our parish- and our hearts- but we wish them all God’s blessings as they go forth into a new adventure of ministry and service for the Lord.
A special service of celebration for the Grant family will be held on Sunday 22nd December, at St Stephens, 10:30am with a BBQ lunch to follow. We will be collecting a special offering for them to bless them as they leave. If you would like to contribute to this, you can either put your cash offering in an envelope labelled “Grant family” and drop this to the office or in the offering basket at the service. Alternatively, you can deposit it directly into our church account with the reference “Grant family”.
