Thought For The Week 3 November 2024

Welcome to our services today. Lois will be bringing the sermon today as both Rory and I are in Nelson at the Alpine Presbytery gathering, the first time it has been held in this beautiful city. The gathering is an opportunity to strengthen our ties to the rest of our regional presbyterian family, to be encouraged, resourced and to mutually support one another in our mission to this part of the world.
Luke has been very busy lately finishing off his assignments as his internship rapidly comes to an end. Over the past 2 years he has been with us, he has grown and developed and is ready to embark on the next chapter in his calling. I’m delighted to be able to announce that Luke has been accepted for a call to the Village Church in Christchurch where he will be ordained as their minister. No official start date has yet been given but it will be early in the new year. Although we will greatly miss him, Teresa, Sophie and Johnny we wish them the greatest blessings in this exciting new step.
Luke officially ends his internship on the 8th December which will be a celebration service followed by a shared lunch at St Stephens. This will be followed by a short licensing service after lunch which is a Presbytery requirement before ordination.
Nga manaakitanga ki a koutou katoa (Blessings to all)
Brent
