Weekly Notices 20 May 2018

Family Night:  Sunday 20 May, 4.30pm to 6.30pm at the Trinity Community Centre.  Bring and share a meal.  Fun for the whole family.

Basement Garage Sale. A sincere thank you to everyone who helped in so many different ways to make the Garage Sale a success. What a team!  You were all awesome to work alongside. Bearing in mind that $3,000 + may not seem a lot of money compared to past market days held at various church sites, this result is fantastic when you consider that many more activities are happening on a Saturday that compete for people’s attention and money. Much of the income came from the wider community. You will be pleased to know that the SC Tongan community were able to take quite a lot of items left over from the garage sale for the container that is being filled for delivery to Tonga in June. TPP Mission in action. It is important that you engage in a debrief which is planned for 10.30am, tomorrow, Monday 21st at the Basement so that we can decide what we do with the left over items. If you were part of the team and can make it, I will appreciate you putting aside 30 – 40minutes for this  discussion. A Spring Clean Garage Sale? A bi-monthly (smaller) garage sale? Other suggestions? The Basement is an awesome location for preparing such events and if we have enough support to continue occasionally or annually, then what ideas do you have for improvements? Timaru Christian Superstore:

Over and over again I am talking about the great book of Gary Chapman’s “The 5 love languages” so good for understanding ourselves and the relationships we have. Each love language reveals our values and inner need to connect and relate with one another. We have many books in many different perspectives here in store. We desire to be a “Beacon of light” for the community. If you and a group want to pray for our ministry please let us know and we can keep you up to date on needs. It is a store that has an impact on everyone in the community both Christian and non-Christian, local and traveller.
