Thought for the Week 19 July 2026

We have certainly had some days this week that have made it quite clear it is winter.  In winter our focus changes, away from the beach, outdoor picnics and long sunny days in the garden.  We spend more time at home sitting around the fire or basking in the warmth of the heatpump, chatting, reading or watching TV.  It is an opportunity to take time out to rest, reflect and in our faith grow in energy and strength.  We also have more time to interact with God through silence and prayer.  Sometimes we sow seeds for the future – a vision of what we will do in the coming months, perhaps set a goal to be achieved, or plan something to look forward to when summer returns.

In August we are focusing on prayer in our Parish, there have been a number of times set aside to pray together starting with a Prayer Breakfast on Saturday 1 August at 8am.  It is a wonderful opportunity to support and pray for our new Wayfinder and listen to what God would have us do, generally in the months ahead for our church and community.
