Thought for the Week 7 June 2026

Welcome to our service today. It is a joy to be ordaining our newest elder, Catherine Richardson. Catherine has a very pastoral and caring heart and through her career as a counsellor, spiritual director and professional supervisor brings many skills to this role. For a long time, she has desired to serve our church both locally and in more regional or national roles and eldership opens many opportunities to exercise her God given gifts. She will make a wonderful edition to our eldership team.

I am excited to announce that we will be pressing ahead with our St Stephens carpark upgrade to make it safer and easier to use. This will see modifications to the existing space to allow for single and separate points of entry and exit plus marked angle parks. While it is a modest change, it will make a significant difference to our parking and traffic movements. The cost quoted for this work is also modest; $5500.

Our second round of advertising for the Wayfinder position yielded 5 applicants so the appointment team is once again busy discerning who is best suited to this role. We would value your prayers for this key and significant appointment in the life of our parish and Trinity Temuka. We are making progress, albeit slowly!
