Thought for the Week 25 August 2024

Welcome to our services today, we are so glad you have made the effort to gather with God’s people for worship and fellowship. Luke will be unpacking the passage from Ephesians 6 about standing in the armour of God in the battle against the forces of evil. I look forward to hearing his perspective on this well-known passage.
Important notice: Combined service next Sunday, 1st September at St Stephens, 10:30am
This is to present and approve the budget for the 2024/25 fiscal year. Copies of this are available on the foyer tables or on request from the office. This document has 4 columns of figures detailing the numbers for income and expenditure and can be a little daunting at first glance! The first column shows the budget for the previous year which helps us make a quick comparison with the projected budget. The second column shows the actual amounts so we can compare that to the previous budget. The third column is the Variance or the difference between what we budgeted and what we received/spent. The fourth column shows the budget for 24/25.
One thing to note is that this budget has been prepared on the assumption that the status quo will remain as it relates to our expenses and no account has been made for any future changes in the way we organize our parish (i.e., moving to one site). This is because no decisions have been made yet.
There will be opportunities given for questions and discussion at the congregational meeting following the service.
Nga manaakitanga ki a koutou katoa (Blessings to all)
