Thought For The Week 12 May 2024

On Thursday our family welcomed a new addition: A sproodle puppy called Kora! We have thought about getting a pup for a long time, but the timing has never quite seemed right.

This time, we decided to take the plunge anyway. So far, things seem to be working out well.

Having a puppy reminds me of having a small child in the house. It brings back a lot of memories of when our boys were little. They’re not so little anymore!

I remember a conversation with my minister when Andrea and I were considering starting a family. We weren’t sure if the timing was right. His words of advice – there will never be a “right” time, only the time that you choose. And if you don’t choose, then you might just miss out.

This is true of so many situations in our lives. Especially in today’s anxious world, we can worry so much about making the wrong decision, that we end up running out of choices.

I wonder if there is a situation weighing on your mind? Perhaps it is time to trust your best judgement, and to trust that God is at work for your good.

I’m not suggesting that you leap in blind, but as we help Kora settle into our lives, I am reminded that there is no time like the present.

Many blessings,

Rory
