Weekly Notices 3 September 2023
Mission Project: Today we are raising Funds for Cyclone Relief in Vanautu. Drop your coins in the bucket and join in the fun. Thank you for your donations
Eatwell Fruit & Vege Co-op: Market-fresh fruit & vegetables. Packs $15 or $10. Text or phone 022 123 3663 or Facebook: facebook.com/eatwelltimaru & message to order, for a pack each Thursday for pick up on the following Tuesday.
As you are aware fruit and vegetable prices are increasing, and the demand for budget priced food is on the rise. If you can help by donating any surplus fruit or vegetables from your garden the Eatwell team would be very appreciative.
Family Works Food Bank: Family Works have thanked us very much for our grocery items and advise that the need is very great. Therefore if we can keep our items up it would be greatly appreciated. Some suggested items, plus the usual general sort of items are:
- Shampoo, conditioner & Deodorants, for both men and women.
- Hand cream and soap.
- Items for children’s lunches may include: budget biscuits, muesli bars and small packets of potato chips that come in a large bag that include several flavours.
- Spreads
- 750g or less blocks of cheese.
New World Stickers : Collecting again for Family Works. Please leave in both Church Foyers or at the Office.
Plant Sale, Saturday 16 September at St Stephen’s at 9am: We are aiming to break our financial record, (set last year over $5,000), so please find a way to help us.
If you have small plants with roots, please pot them up and bring them along.
We need good quality plants, so if there is a failure ,please just discard it.
We will need more helpers on the day- some of our regular helpers are not able to help again.
Also if you have any other ideas that could help, feel free to contact me.
Many thanks Murray. Ph 686 1629.
Also:
Whilst nurturing your seedlings for the plant sale, hope you have had a chance to look through your favourite recipes with the baked goods stall in mind? If your baking skills are a little rusty, perhaps you might like to offer a monetary donation or baking ingredients . Please bring along a bag for your purchases.

Operation Christmas Child Boxes: Just imagine bringing joy to a young person on Christmas day when they receive an Operation Christmas Box. This may be the first gift a child has ever received.
This parish will once again be supporting the project this year. Each box is to contain something to wear, something to play with, something for school, something to love, something special and something for personal hygiene for boys and girls in ages 2-14 years. If you wish to fill a box please ensure you cover the transport cost.
Otherwise you can provide goods or a donation towards the transport costs and place in the box in the foyer of each church. For further information contact Judith Ph 688 6004.
