Thought For The Week 7 May 2023

We are coming towards the end of the Easter season in the church, and enjoying a last bit of golden, autumn weather. Leaves rustling on the ground. The smell of cool earth, cut grass and wood fires. The sound of children playing in the parks. It might just be my favourite time of year.

It is also a sign of what is to come. Winter is on its way. The world begins to close in, and, if we’re not careful, we can find ourselves closing in as well. Winter can seem final.

The Easter season reminds us that life, new and renewed, is yet to come. In John 14   Jesus declares “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life”. If you find this season hard,  I encourage you to spend time with Jesus – in prayer and in reflection – noticing the ways that God’s life finds its way into the nooks and crannies of our lives.        Encouraging us, inspiring us, leading us along the Way, as His Truth guides us into our Life in Him.

Rory
