Mission Project: This morning we are raising funds for Blind & Low Vision NZ  (local/Regional).  Join in the  bucket of fun.

Good Friday 7 April:  Combined Worship at 10am at Craighead Auditorium.  Guest speaker:  Sean du Toit.  Offering for Cyclone Gabrielle recovery.  A Timaru  Christian Ministers Association event.

Food Bank Items:  Suggestions from Family Works. This is as well as the usual general sort of items:

  • Shampoo, conditioner & Deodorants, for both men and women.
  • Hand cream and soap.
  • Items for children’s lunches may include: budget biscuits, muesli bars and small packets of potato chips that come in a large bag that include several flavours.
  • Spreads
  • 750g or less blocks of cheese.

Vacancy – Alpine Presbytery Treasurer:  This is currently a voluntary position with an honorarium. The time commitment varies depending on the timing of duties. A minimum of 4 hours per week, approximately 25 hours per month, with more needed at year end. Meetings are the only part of the role that have a designated time slot. Apart from some meetings the role can be completed online hence the person could be located anywhere in the Presbytery.

Duties include:

  • weekly payment of bills • fortnightly payroll processing

Preparation of:

  • monthly financial reports • annual performance report
  • annual budget & Parish levy invoices

Being:

  • an Officer of Alpine Presbytery
  • a member of Property & Finance Committee and Presbytery Council – both of which meet monthly either by Zoom or in person

Advice and support to Presbytery and Parishes

Skills:

  • Familiarity with Xero accounting software
  • Knowledge of employment responsibilities
  • Familiarity with MYOB payroll and payday filling
  • Understanding of fund accounting
  • Use of business online banking
  • Ability to relate to people with a limited understanding of financial matters
  • Ability to contribute as part of Presbytery Council and Property & Finance Committee

There is room for negotiation on some aspects of this position.
