Thought For The Week 19 February 2023

It’s with great pleasure today that we celebrate the commissioning of Luke Blackbeard as our ministry intern for the next 2 years.

Welcome Jonathan!

It’s so good to have you with us.

As we welcome Luke and his family amongst us, it is humbling to remember that none of this is by chance, but it’s all part of God’s good plan for our lives.

This weekend Andrea and I have had a surprise visit from Lance and Sandra Thomas. Lance was my mentoring minister in Rotorua.  Seeing them both, and reminiscing, has reminded me of my own time as an intern.

There are three things for us to remember as we embark on this journey together:

This is a calling. For us as a church, as much as it is for  Luke and his family.

This is a partnership. We are in this together.

This is about God, not just about us. So let’s be open to the Spirit’s leading.
