Thought For The Week 12 February 2023

We resume our regular services today at both sites after 5 weeks of combined services. It has been lovely to worship in one place over the summer but it is
equally special to have the 2 styles of worship service available and I know many appreciate the ascetics of the Trinity church. It is also great to welcome
Rory back to our pulpits after a good summer holiday.
But don’t get too comfortable! Next Sunday we will be combining at Trinity, 9:30, to commission Luke Blackbeard our intern. This will authorize him to conduct the sacraments ( Communion and baptism) and is the formal commencement of his tenure with us.
Today I am conducting worship at Pleasant Point which is followed by an important congregational meeting to determine the future of that parish.
This week I will be once again participating in the Central South Island Charity Bike Ride- 365km from Timaru, Tekapo, Kurow and back- just a little ride around the block! Thanks to the generosity of many of you I’m pleased to announce I’ve raised $2200! This will benefit the recipient charities;
Alzheimer’s SC, Multiple Sclerosis SC, Plunket SC, Graeme Dingle Foundation, Family Works SC, The Y Mid and SC, Life Education and Hospice SC. Thank you so much for your support.
Blessings,
Brent
