Trinity Community Garden needs you!!!! We need people to take a turn to be at the gardens on a Tuesday (currently at 11am – 12.30pm); maybe on a Saturday morning at a time to be decided. Weeding, planting, watering are the tasks and as we develop more garden beds, to help with the work. It has been a real pleasure to see the herb garden flourish and the vegetables growing well considering the dry weather and the need to keep the watering up!!! We just need a few people to give 90 minutes of their time once a month!!! Contact Helen if you can help ph 021 768 973.
Action on Climate Change: Climate change will challenge our food supplies through crop losses ( recent floods in Waikato, Pukekohe, Helensville for eg.) weather events disrupted food transportation etc. As individuals, we can confront these challenges through building local food resilience. Growing our own food, Community Gardens, farmers markets and the like.
The question: Can we realistically take enough of these actions to create robust local food resilience in the Timaru District?
Helen Carter invites you to join with her to attend this workshop if you are interested.
Domestic Food Resilience – a public workshop.
