Thought For The Week 12 June 2022

Welcome to our very special ‘Chosen” service today. Chosen is an innovation on traditional child sponsorship that allows children to choose their sponsor (rather than the sponsor choosing the child). Anyone who would like to sponsor a child has their photograph taken and this is sent to the project in Bangladesh for a child to select who they would like to have as their sponsor.

It’s a great privilege to have Grant Norsworthy sharing his heart for the poor in less fortunate places. Grant is an ambassador for World Vision which provides development aid to millions around the world, helping communities develop the resources they need to grow and flourish. Through partnering with World Vision we are able to provide basic things like education, health care and infrastructure that bridge the gap between crushing poverty and a life of hope for the future.

Grant is also a professional musician who has recorded with the Paul Colman Trio and Sonic Flood and produced the Blessing Aoteroa. We were blessed to have his expert coaching for our musicians and he will be in the area for a week helping other churches in this way as well. Next Sunday night he will be leading a special night of worship and celebration at Life Church, which will be a wonderful opportunity to gather with other Christians in Timaru.
