Thought For The Week 31 October 2021

I have been spending quite a bit of time this week working out how to comply with Covid 19 regulations to enable a sport event to go ahead. It is the second attempt as first one earlier this month was postponed till November. We have been running this event for many years and have it down to pat but this has put a spanner in the works.

The venue has all these requirements as well.

How do we limit to 100 people when we have 70 competitors? How do we keep          everyone happy when all parents and spectators cannot be in the stadium?  Thankfully there is another area that has a separate entrance that they will be able to use.

Most of the competitors will be children and how do you keep them a meter apart while not competing. Thank goodness they don’t have to wear a mask.

This week’s lectionary readings includes the Mark 12 v30 reading about loving your neighbour. This is definitely a time for loving your neighbour. Remembering to wear your mask, keeping your distance, following hygiene requirements and, praying for those in level 3. Doing all this to ensure you look after your neighbour and yourself.
