From the Mission Group:
Knitting: Knitted items will be collected on two dates to ensure they reach families in need while the weather is still cold. They are Sunday 12th July and Sunday 16th August.
Patterns for beanies, fish and chip jerseys, slippers, baby wraps and jerseys in provincial rugby colours are available in the foyer.
Food Bank: Donations of food items such as rice, pasta, soup, spaghetti and pasta sauce would be very helpful at the present time to help make a complete meal.
Eatwell: The new $10 bags are great value for a smaller family and $15 one is ideal for a larger one. To get one of these bags at wholesale prices ring 022-123-3663.
Refugee Donations: Items such as stationery, toys, household items etc. can be left at the Migrant Centre (Corner Sophia and George Streets) between 9 and 5pm.
Do your bread tags end up in the rubbish bin? Instead, help save the environment by dropping them in the designated jar in the foyer. Money raised will provide wheelchairs in South Africa.
Winter Lunches—Help required: We would like to start these again on the 28 July.
A team of helpers is needed before we make this start.
A challenge is here for a leader who can plan a menu and organize the helpers.
