Thought for the Week 29 March 2020

Our world has changed. New Zealand as we know it has changed. Our lives have been put on hold, but God has not changed. He is the same as he was yesterday and last week. He will be the same as we go into the future.
Psalm 46 –
God is our refuge and strength, and ever present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
And the mountains fall into the heart of the sea
Thou its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.
There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God.
The Holy place where the most high dwells
God is within her, she will not fall.
God will help her at break of day.
Nations are in uproar; kingdoms fall,
he lifts his voice, the earth melts
The Lord almighty is with us;
The God of Jacob is our fortress
Be still and know that I am God.
We are in uncharted waters. Some of you will be anxious and feeling isolated.
God is on this journey with you. Take time to dwell in his love each day.
We have God’s creation all around us, the singing of the birds in the trees, the fragrance of the flowers, and the many small creatures moving around in the undergrowth. It is a time when we can strengthen our relationship with God through his creation. We can forge strong bonds with our neighbours, family and friends on the phone or by email.
We are in Lent, a time of reflection. As we dwell on the crucifixion, may we remember Christ rose again that we might have new life in him. We too, will emerge from this difficult journey to live on in hope, peace and love.
May God bless you all now and always.
