Thought For The Week 14 April
There are times in life that we are turned inside out and upside down.
Everything seems to happen at once, and, somehow, in the middle of the whirlwind, we try to cope and make sense of it all.
The arrival of a new life. A significant birthday. The passing of a dearly loved friend.
As we rehearse the story of Holy Week once more, we see that same upheaval in the life of Jesus and his disciples. Indeed, we bear witness to an upheaval that turned our own lives upside down and inside out. An upheaval that is still transforming our world every day.
From the exuberance of the triumphal entry, to the foment of Jerusalem, to the heartbreak of the garden and the cross, to the awakening joy of the resurrection, we experience once more all of the highs and lows of human experience.
We experience the passing of the hope that we can one day work our way out of this mess on our own. We experience the bitter betrayal of our own hearts and minds. We are drawn to the dawning hope that there can be another Way. A Way that leads to life and not to death.
So as you walk the Way of Jesus this week, may your life be transformed and made new through the life of His Spirit.
