Thought For The Week 8 April 2018
Welcome to our worship services today which feature lay preachers at both our sites. David Draffin at Trinity and Bev Quigley at St Stephen’s. It is very healthy for the church to hear a variety of voices and while our ministers are specially called to the task of preaching and teaching, they are not the only ones gifted by God for this. Our desire is to build up and develop a good pool of lay preachers who will contribute to the spiritual formation of our congregations. I trust you will hear God speaking through the preaching of his word today.
What a special time Easter was! The combined Good Friday service at Life Church was attended by over 500 people from 11 churches across the city. We had a beautiful morning for the Sunday dawn service at Caroline bay which included a number of visitors. Around 25 of us enjoyed early morning worship followed by bbq fish. Our combine service at St Stephen’s was packed with around 120 people including many visitors. The day finished off with our regular monthly afternoon communion service in the Trinity chapel which was a wonderful way to end the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus. A big thank you to all those who participated in different ways to make the weekend so memorable.
Coming up: Alpine Presbytery gathering, 27-29 April at the Village Church, Bryndwr. This inspiring event is open to all and registrations can be found here:
