Thought For The Week September 10
Welcome to our worship services today. If you are like me you will be feeling a lift in your spirit as we move out of winter into spring. It’s lovely to have more light, colour, fragrance and warmth around us. Next Sunday at Trinity will be the annual spring flower displays which will fill the church – I’m very much looking forward to that and seeing what our extraordinary floral artist come up with.
Don’t forget we also have our annual plant sale at St Stephen’s on this Saturday (16th) which will get you in the mind of spring planting. This is an important fundraiser for our church so we appreciate your support – whether manning a sales table, providing some baking for the cake stall or as a customer. But beyond raising funds this is a significant connection point to our community who we will welcome to our patch, many of whom rarely step inside a church. Let’s make them feel welcome! If you have any questions about this please contact Murray 686 1629.
Our annual general meeting is coming up on Oct 1st. This will be a combined service at St Stephens’, 10am (note the time change). We look forward to celebrating the past year and our achievements, elect new office bearers (3 parish council positions available) and approve the budget. The Annual report will be available at both sites next Sunday.
