The Bible Society of Timaru presents. QuizTime! A new family-friendly event for young and old! No prior study needed – just bring Bibles. Today 14 July, 2pm – 3pm, Wilson Street Baptist Hall. Bring & Share Lunch starts at 1pm for those who love to eat and fellowship. We’re raising funds for Bibles in South East Asia. $5 per person, $20 per family. The Mission Group’s winter knitting project will finish on today 14 July. Any unfinished garments can be placed in one of the food bank baskets in either church foyer, to be delivered to Family Works. A big thank you to all our enthusiastic knitters!
New Request: The Hospital Chaplain at Christchurch Hospital is asking for little knitted teddy bears for their Neo Natal unit. If you would like to help with this worthwhile project you can find patterns and wool in the foyers of both churches.
Presbyterian Women Lunch Group: Meets at Trinity, 17 July. at 12.30pm. Speaker: Jan Maxwell-Hey, speaking on her train trip around the top of the South Island. Bring finger food to share and something for the sales table. All Welcome.
“Fish and chip” baby singlets Lunchtime Presbyterian Women’s Group speakers earlier this year were Marg Stocker and Colleen Winnington from the Geraldine tramping club talking about the clubs work with the Sherpa people in a remote area of Nepal over the last 10 years. The singlets for the babies is FISH a way we can help. If you would like to be a knitter too ( between wee teddies ) the pattern – all knitted in one piece is on the table in the Foyer. Marg returns to Nepal late August so we have until August .

Winter lunch: Tuesday 23 July in St Stephens hall starting at Mid-day. We served 50 diners with meals at our last get together. Please confirm your numbers if you are attending. Ph Bev 686 1207 Cost of meal is $7 but extra donation is welcomed to support our kitchen fund. We would like to replace one of our stoves.
Plant Sale: At Stephens on 14 September starting at 9am. Flower plants, vegetable plants, all the usual stalls, and some surprises. More details later. Contact: Murray 686 1629.
Yoga for Seniors. Pavithra Ravi, a Rhythm Kids mum, is a trained yoga teacher specialising in Yoga for seniors and has offered to run classes at Trinity Community Centre on Thursdays from 1.30pm – 3pm. This is for men and women. Would you like to attend these classes? This is not an ‘on the floor’ class. Starting Thursday 25th July. Gold Coin Donation. TP Kids Playgroup: Another Timaru Presbyterian Community Outreach has begun. Led by a Rhythm Kids mum and early childhood educator Kirsty McIntyre, we need someone to make a Tee Pee and someone to make and paint some planks to be used for the play and learn group. The Eatwell team would like to thank all the people that recently responded to our request for more cloth bags to hold fruit and vegetables. This was very much appreciated.
Timaru District Choir and the Geraldine Community Choir have joined together for the winter season of choir music. Come along and enjoy an afternoon of journeying with us through these movies along with our variety of guest artists. Tickets: $15 adult, $8 children with refreshment following. Concerts will be held on Saturday 27 July at 3pm at Trinity Church, College Rd, Timaru or St Mary’s Church, Talbot St, Geraldine at 3pm on 28 July.
